So with a JDL-PK  my  factory 3 button (lock - unlock - panic) remotes would still work exactly the same. My remote would activate Memory settings for #1 and my wifes remote would activate Memory settings #2. What would I push to activate the remote starter? Or am I missig something?

That is for use with Aftermarket RS / Alarm.
Remote Distance varies with Manufacturer.  Some with RS have 1/2 mile range, some have LCD that show U if the vehicle is running.
Try :  www.gps2000online.com if U want the unusual

The JDL is for use with aftermarket alarm or keyless entry. The JDL-PK is use with remote starter.I'm nost sure if there is a add-on system out on the market that can replicate two different user function from two separate remote FOB's aside from the OEM system. The JDL can only accommodate one setting as far as I know. Here is some more information on the JDL:

  • Data interface kit provides complete integration to the factory doorlocks and security system with any aftermarket remote starter and/or alarm system.
  • Factory personalization features such as: Drivers Seat, Mirror, and Radio station preset memory are maintained with the installation of this kit with any remote aftermarket system. *(Driver #1 only)
  • Doorlock interface kit will: Disarm/rearm Grand Cherokee factory security system as well as unlock and lock doors.
  • Factory priority unlock feature: Drivers door unlock (First press) and passenger door unlock (Second press) is maintained

Thanks for all the information. It sounds to me like the JDL is as close as I am going to come to what I want.  How do I find an installer in my area that can competently install it?

    Thanks for all the help!

Two more things. Does the LCD system need the data interface and is this remote system something I can install myself? I installed one several years ago in my 1995 Grand Cherokee.

    Thanks Again

U definitely should use the DATABuss Interface, if not for install time and money, but it is far better than cutting wires or taking the doors apart.

Installing yourself is up to U, but if U consider the headache of newer technology, my money is on the knowledgeable installer

Since U R on the Internet,

RESEARCH< RESEARCH<RESEARCH, then check locally to for installers.  Check with your Jeep Dealer Sales Manager & see if they use someone locally

Look in the installer database for an installer near you. The JDL can be purchased through us or bypasskit.com.

If your installing an alarm or remote starter, it is beneficial that you use the JDL or JDL-PK for easier integration of the keyless and remote start functions from the aftermarket system into the OEM system. This vehicle is easy to work on as long as you follow all the instructions given to you.

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my infrared Keyless remote is failing. I'd like to purchase a replacement keyless entry remote.

I read in the post above about a "JDL". Where can I buy this? I also read about the databus interface. I've found some of these on the web but they are all for 1999 and newer. Is there a databus interface available for a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I'm looking for the easiest solution? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Steve Smith

If the replacement is not infrared, I'll have to replace the receiver. I'd like to make the installation as simple as possible. Do you have  a data bus interface for a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I did not see that year offered on your website.

If I can't get the data bus interface, I guess I could hook the keyless receiver so it will switch the same wires the Infrared receiver switches now. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Steve Smith
