i'm presently wiring a clifford XL500 in a 84 chevy g20 van.  my first time and it seems pretty easy but i'm unsure of a couple things:

-- alarm's brown wire (for neg park lites)  connects to brown wire near firewall that i've followed to each prk lite.  does it really matter where along it's path i tap into it??

--- the manual says to run power(red) and black wires straight to battery,  can't i just hook'em up to available spots in the fuse box instead or does it really gotta travel to the battery and WHY??

thanx

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
