A futher note, if you are worry about the heat getting to the unit. You can remove the Styrofoam on the steering column and mount the unit there. I wouldn’t be too concern about the heat affecting the unit, just worry about water getting into it if you haven't got a safe place to put it.

Your heater can get +/- 192 degrees, the same temp as your engine.
