Wire it to the parking brake?

Hey guys....

 Hope this is not a stupid question that upset everybody,......if it is then....oh well,lol...but i'm installing an in dash dvd player right....(Panasonic CX-DV1500EUC) and one of the wires (according to the manual) needs to be wired to the parking brake? (blue w / YELLOW strip)...what's that all about? I'm just trying to understand what's the point? thanks for any info on this...

The purpose is to prevent the screen from being able to display DVD program material (like a movie) when the parking brake is off.  The brake must be set before the screen can display the program.  This is because it is illegal in most states to have an active video screen within view of the driver while a vehicle is moving.

oh ok...thanks for the response man.....yet another stupid question from the pup....but i sacrifice stupid today for intelligence tomorrow anyday....thanks again....and i guess i won't be wiring that wire at all then,lol.
