Every forum i go to people havent got much nice to say about audiobahn but no one has a reason, some say cheap subs, some say they dont push the power they claim, others say their amps draw more than they need to, so whats the deal are these subs and amps really that crappy?

my brother inlaw has mentioned his friends 5000watt audiobahn is one of the best he's heard. cant say how many setups hes listened to or what not, but i believe there to be better anyways. maybe their upper end stuff is alright but i havent heard anything positive about them yet.

We've had this discussion hundreds of times it seems.  To me it seems like they sell overpriced and overrated equipment with higher failure rates than similarly priced products.  I think maybe they should spend more money on R&D, less on super fat surrounds and advertising.  They seem to make their money off looks and fake 'massive discounts' rather than quality... I don't like that.

Do their subs and amps play fine and usually work?  Sure .. I simply think you can do much better for the same amount of money.

On the low end of the spectrum, IMO Audiobahn is high on the list. Definately above jensen, road gear, sony(JK but I know someone would kick this in), etc... I mean I would sell there subs with out a problem, but I have almost no experience with there amplifiers.
Now will there subs keep up with the RF, Alpine, or any other name brand sub, probably not well or for long.
All in all it comes down to what you can afford, and you skill in matching the box to the sub.

I mentioned before that my friend and I are working on a 65 Lincoln Continental Sponsered by Audiobahn. Im not thrilled to be using thier product but when they are giving us what we need for absolutely free , then we'll make the best of it and who knows???? We already have installed the A5000SPL rack mount amp to push 4 10" Imortal subs.Still waiting on some power accesories to come in but I'll let you know how it sounds when its all hooked up. Id rather be using almost anybody elses sponser but like I said , when its free........Plus we get paid the same either way , its thier money. Im predicting alot of hard SPL but not much SQ. Were using some of thier components in the doors and dash to smooth out everything else.

Ive heard some audiobahn setups that were really loud and sounded good, and some that sounded terrible.  Like anything it depends a lot on the install.  The  biggest complaints against audiobahn are; they are overpriced, have bad SQ, are not very durable, and their subs cant really handle what they claim.  They do, however, get loud, and get a lot of oohs and ahhs because of all the chrome.

pimpincavy said it.  Audiobahan makes "loud" subs.  Not very accurate (sq) and not very durable (fried voice coils).  They are good for a one time spl competition.  Or for show.  But when you want an everyday system that rocks the car over and over with accurate sound then, like others have said, there are many many others out there.

Like someone said before on this forum:  a chromed turd only looks and sounds so good.  Is audiobahn really that bad? -- posted image.

I use audiobahn subs and I think they get really loud and make some ground shaking bass, but they do lack a little in the sq area. I used the natural sound 15" sub and they worked pretty good, so did the excursion subs. My only complaint with excursion subs is that the large foam surround wrinkles kind of funny when the sub is being worked hard. My friend uses the performer subs and they will beat alot of local stuff, but one of his voice voils came apart from the back of the speaker twice and he has always got to repair them.

I claim to be no expert, but after even begining to read the specs on their amps I was sick. That stuff has got to be garbage, right up there with pyrmid, Boss and so on. Someone coined the term Flea Market equipment. It's for the un-informed. IMHO...

I have never seen one of their amps that lasted very long. Sure, they are loud, but not very good sounding. Just my opinion; they are not worth what they cost. You can spend the same money and get a much higher quality amp.
