Woofers on fire

a wall socket will probably not catch a sub on fire. If you apply way too much power across a wire, it burns up in a split second. I used to do this with tiny strands of wire across 6V lantern batteries. You'd have to get some current that's just at the right point for the wire to heat up slowly, which is very hard to do. If I remember correctly, heating wire lowers the resistance which makes it draw more current which makes it burn up faster and this keeps happening until it burns up.

Also, like I said in the other thread, you'll most likely blow a breaker anyway unless you do this in a shop w/ high current circuits.

Probably won't catch fire, maybe a paper cone will, but will melt the metal (doubt the magnet but could soften the frame).  Seen an Audioahan rip it's surround.  Had 2000 watts of power running to that black sub (it's only 250 rms i think).  It was awsome.  Probably the coolest is to watch a poorly constructed box blow from pressure.  Make sure you are well away when it does though.  All you guys took firecrackers to your GI Joes when you were kid's, didn't you?  

never saw a box blow apart but i did see the terminal blow out and leave a dent in my friends garage door. he didnt build the box, it was from a local shop. he returned it and they said they had a problem with them and thought they gave him a new one without problems. but that was awesome to see.
