I'm going to buy some 6.5's components.... im looking at m3 diamond audio components vs.  alpine type r components.

I listened to some type s components on display and i thought they sounded pretty decent, and i also listened to some m3 diamond audio components , i liked them better, but to the real question.  Midbass is very important to me , becuase i will not be adding a sub and my 6x9's are gone because i figured out im not a fan a rear fill.  I really havent heard the type r's, i hear that the type r's sound much better then the type s's anyways? and i couldnt tell if the m3's had any midbass to speak of becuase afterall its a demo board.. so any thoughts??

Not adding a sub? I haven't compared those components, but here's one recommendation if you really are set on no sub:
Place the components in the kick panel and add some nice dedicated midbass drivers 6.5-8" in the door.

Honestly, a lot of the component midbass sets out there are going to have decent midbass. More important than the driver chosen, in my opinion, will be the quality of the installation and some luck re: your car and cabin gain.
Having said that, if I were to look at a fresh pair of components right now I would consider Adire. This would be especially true if I was looking for midbass response. Adire, in addition to value, is most known for their drivers staying clean and controlled into the bass region.
Resonant Engineering licenses Adire's technology. You might want to check them out too.

thats funny cause the 2 sets i had didn't have midbass at all... OOO in a dream I'll be able to afford adire, you see I have a connection that i can get mainstream stuff at cost (around ebay prices) from a dealer i know locally... What about diamond m6's... And any installation tips besides mount the drivers on an mdf ring and go dynamtting till the cows come home?

Seal that door up nice and tight with mat.  Use a foam baffle to mount the speaker to.  MDF ring helps a bit.  I had luck with the deflex pads behind the speaker.  It seemed to clean things up slightly.  (that one could have just been buyers imagination or wishful thinking though).

Even though you don't have a subwoofer, still put a high pass crossover on them.  Whenever you can decrease the freq. bandwidth the speaker are being asked to play, especally away from the driver's fs, it will do a better job doing what you do ask it to do.  Play around with the crossover if you have something adjustable.  If you can, try a steep 24db slope xo at 60hz.  Otherwise something like 80hz at 12db would be ok, but it would probably seem a little thin.  Anyway, you get the picture, play around with it.

Other than that, you might be looking at a separate EQ if you really want to force more out of those babies.  The word FORCE is appropriate - forcing something through eq is not optimal.

I guess I did have one more thing.  You COULD use the stock 6x9's as subwoofer type drivers.  If you crossed them over low enough they wouldn't mess up your front stage too much.  Just use the calculators on this site to pick out a coil of appropriate size.

I get all the midbass I need all the way down to 90 hz off my alpine type r's   I love them and wouldnt replace them for anything right now.   I was only able to drive them to half potential before now that I am driving them with a diamond audio 600.4 wow...thats all I have to say.   My fronts cut off at 90 hz, my rear 5 1/4's cut at 150 hz and my subs cut at 90hz and up...so far i am having fun adjusting the eq on the deck to match my crossovers on the amps...lots of fun,   but hey. I am setting up a great SQL car...wait and see.   I am expecting great socres in SQ and around 153db in a 0-300 stock spl class....hhehehe    USACi points anyone?
