I now you guys are kidding, but remember you are legally responceable for any "booby traps" If someone is hurt or killed, even when they are trying to steel your ride. You can be charged with assalt or worse. be careful.

Actually in Texas if you are in the commsion of a felon, You can kill them to protect your property. They can even be running away or not even pull a weapon. Night or Day it makes no Differance.

yeah man, i'm young and no a couple of people that steal radios and pawn them for money. and they biggest thing they tell me are these 3 rules to stealing systems.

1. never bust in a car that the faceplate is not on.    so if the plate is off, your good

2. allways try to jack cars in back corners of parkinglots.  so park up the middle by people

3. The #1 rule to jacking systems, If there is any kind of led light flashing, walk away. his pylosophy was that anyone taking time to put a light on the dash, is not worth the risk of breaking the window just to find a loud @$$ siren blasting at ya. and the stickers dont do much. but yeah. the led light on your dash will keep any teen in search of an ez system to leave your car alone.

hey, everyone has got to start somewhere. but ill learn

I had a peep try to Jack me on my Motorcycle. He said he was going to shot me and take it. I pulled out a Colt .45 Auto and said he had 3 seconds to talk with God before I shot his ass dead! He said he was just kidding, I told him I was not and I don't give no second chances even to ID10T's!

Note to Thiefs, Just remember you can be dead for stealing a set of tires. It happened here. All 3 are now dead from trying to steal a set of rims! I hope it was worth it to them.

Cause they took your guns in Canada and left you to the mercy of the thiefs.

I'm not a lawyer, but I believe this is a gross overstatement of the law in Texas, especially in the context of booby traps.

Even in Texas, it probably isn't smart to go around using ANY KIND of deadly force to protect your car radio.  You still need to show that the property or the person could not be protected by less extreme means for the deadly force to be justified.  See Tex. Pen. Code Ann. § 9.42.  and  D. Mark Elliston,  Tex. Prac. Guide Crim. Prac. & Procedure Ch. 15.XII (2004).

Also, regarding booby traps in Texas, you can use devices (booby traps) to protect property, however, only if the device, "is not designed or known to cause death or serious bodily injuryAND is reasonable under the circumstances.   See Tex. Pen. Code Ann. § 9.42.  and  D. Mark Elliston,  Tex. Prac. Guide Crim. Prac. & Procedure Ch. 15.XII (2004).

Again, even in Texas, it probably isn't smart to go around booby trapping your car with devices that can cause serious bodily injury.

/End public service announcement.  If you have a question, consult your attorney before you implement the device.
