I recently purchased the AVIC-N1 and will be having an audio place install in my Infiniti G35. The Bose system utilizes an AMP. However, one audio place says I need a hi/lo converter, one says that I can bypass the stock amp, the other says I need to purchase a 4 channel amp. Why the variances in recommendations?
Ideally, I want to keep my stock speakers and amp just because I really dont need the *best* sound. Besides, purchasing a new amp and speakers is still expensive. I have tried doing searches but found no answers as most people have replaced their speakers and amps at the same time as the HU. I read in one thread that there may be a power on lead on the amp that I need to tap into.
I appreciate the help!

i would bypass it man.
but it all depends on whether you want to use the bose speakers. have the audio shop check if there 4 or 2 ohm. if there 2 ohm woofers with an additional tweeter i would replace them. you can just use the avic's internal amp or if you really want to rock buy a 4 channel amp.
get ready to spend some labor dollas!
