Am installing starter/alarm but don't know which of the drawings to go by for the locks-98 GMC Sierra - positive trigger / negative trigger ,  5 wire alternating , two step positive or negative , too many options for a newbee. The first two diagrams use no relays , if the existing circutry allready employs relays areadditional relays needed?

thanks for any help given Tony M.

P.S. The unit is a Commando FM-870  two way  remote start / alarm

It's only broke,if you can't fix it.

Thanks for the links, I understand the various diagrams, but what are type "A" & "C" door locks ? The difference is not indicated on the links.

Tanks again for any input on this  Tony M.

5 wire (type C) on the two door models, and positive trigger (type A) on the four door and keyless entry models.

POWER LOCK---------lt. blue @ either door boot

POWER UNLOCK---------white @ either door boot

Type A is a (+) type door lock system where if you momentarily touch the target wire with a (+) pulse, it will activate the lock/unlock . Type C does the same with a (+) pulse but isolates the switch from seeing 12 volts to avoid possible damage to the switch.
