I have a extra cab silverado and want to go with 2 10" subwoofers.  My question is what is the best subwoofer to go with, mostly interested in Sq but I want something that will pound also. The box I have is downfiring and the subs need to fit in this: mounting depth: 6.75" air space: .70ea.  Thanks for the help!

1) Not all subs will work downfiring. You'll want to look for ones that are. Check this pdf out for information on how to determine this: http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/TechPapers/DriverOrientation.pdf
Check out the offerings at Adire Audio. Also try Image Dynamics. The IDQ series 10", which I own, was designed for small sealed boxes. It isn't the deepest subwoofer in the world, but the bass it does play is nice and tight.
Do you have an amplifier you're going to use, or?

I was thinking about buying a jl 500/1 amp to run the subs.  Thanks for the link on if a sub can be mounted downfiring.  Anyways.  I was thinking about either the idq10v2 or the jl w3v2.  Price really isnt a issue I have found the jl subs for $159. The RMs on the IDQ is 250 and the jl's RMS is 300. Does this mean the jl will play louder?  Also which of those two do you think will have the better Sq? Thanks for all the help!

I would go with either one of those subs, the rms does not mean it will play louder it will just handel a little more power. If you have any local shops around your area I would go in and listen to as many subs as possible before making your selection, find a sub that sounds good to you. anyone can tell you what sub they like but it is best to find a sub that sounds good to your ears.

I could also go with the IDQ12v2? They dont recquire much airspace and their RMS is 350. Would they have as good as Sq as the 10's?

them image dynamics subs in my opinion put the jl's all the way up till the w6 to shame.  If my competition didn't cary them i would be all over them.

So what size do you recommend 2  idq10v2's or 2 idq12v2's in a extra cab silverado downfiring?  The 12's will have .90ft of airspace and the 10's would have .70 ?  I want a subwoofer that has some bass but still have good sound quality.  I listen to all type of music, which is best for me.

There will be very little SQ difference between a 10" and 12" driver. The 12" will play slightly deeper and is slighlty more efficient. If you have the space, go for the 12".
It takes double the amplifier power to make only a 3db increase in max SPL. 3db is not a large increase for daily driving and SQ listening. So, don't stress out about the amplifier power.
You are correct, the 12's would be good in around .90ft. The 10's would be good in .70ft. However, the great thing about these drivers is that you could push it even smaller without an audible effect on sound. You can push the volume down to .50ft^3 on the 10" and the resulting estimated response curve is less than 1db off the curve at .70ft^3. The 12" driver shows similar characteristics. You can bump it down to a .70ft^3 box without much loss.
In any event, the difference between 2 12" IDQs and 2 10" IDQs will be very small. If space is an issue go with the 10s. The 12's will play slightly lower and louder given the same amplifier power. They'll both be great for SQ.

So definitely the IDQ's over the jl w3v2? Also would their be a better amp then the 500/1 jl amp?
