Hello, i installed a simple video system and fm modulator in a friends 04 chevy tahoe xl. after i was done he said his factory XM radio wasnt working???? i saw only two plugs in the back of the radio, and the one antina wire. what could i have posibbly done???? i had the radio unplug for awhile and turned the car on, would that cause a problem if it losses power for awhile?? would the audiovox FM modulator interfear with the XM??? the car had a sun roof and i ran the av cables up the right side B pillar i didnt even get near the oem XM antena, what could have happened?????

The fm reception is fine, i never once saw a sattleite radio antena behind the radio??? where does the antena go through?? maybe its part of the smaller black plug that was on the back of the oem cd player. Do you know if there is a sattlelite antena that plugs into the back of the radio? if there is then that might be my problem because i never saw one from the begining.  anyone else??

i think there is a seperate control box for the xm radio located somewhere under the das hand the ant. is connected to that. and a data cable of somesort runs to the xm brain to the radio.
maybe check some fuses incase u might have blown one out

so why would an fm modulator interfear with the xm if its two seperate inputs?

when the car comes back tommoro i will just pull the radio out and double check that everthing is pluged in.

thats what i would do just double check everything
the fm mod should have nothing to do with it
but cheack the connections and fuses
how is it not working is it saying no antenna or just not doing anything when u turn the xm on?

I am impressed. All these comments and not a single questions asking, What exactly doesn't work? Does the radio switch to xm? If it does, does nothing come in? Does the display show anything? It probably needs to be reactivated through the radio because you disconnected power. Check the owner's manual.
