The APS lock outputs need to be connected to the JDL-PK's Blue(-) UNLOCK ALL DOOR input and the Green(-) LOCK input. When the JDL-PK recieves the lock or unlock output signal from the APS it will provide the proper code via the Violet(-) data wire connected to the OBDII. The computer uses various coded data algorythms to perform functions such as lock, unlock, trunk(if equiped), window rollup(if equiped), security bypassing for remote start etc. These are all provided and designed into the JDL-PK interface for ease of installation. Good Luck. JDL-PK wiring and instructions

So I shouldn't have hooked the JDL (or anything) to the door locks at all and that the ODBII interface will handle that?

If you have the JDL-PK then your door locks will be controlled via the data wire. You just need to connect the APS lock/unlock outputs to the JDL-PK as I described in the previous post. No you don't need to connect directly to the vehicle's door lock wires. That's the purpose of the interface. If you want to connect directly to your door locks then you could have used the PKU-CH for bypassing the transponder only and saved some money. Since you have the better unit you might as well utilize it's features. Good luck 2000 Grand Cherokee Remote Start? - Page 2 -- posted image. JDL-PK features

Thanks iskidoo,
I feel like a tool for spending the time wiring into the doors. Oh well, it's easy enough to disconnect :)
