I have a customer that I put a remotestart on their 01' Escalade and everything works fine, but the information center block says Security. The truck starts fine with a key and by remote.I am using an Ultrastart 1250 with a 555L. If I remove the 555L the Security light goes off but of course It won' t start by remote.Has anybody had this problem before or is there a better module to use for that truck?

did you go over the installation of the 555L ? That interfaces with the computer and if its not installed right, its not gonna work and could cause serous problems! I would also make sure second ign, and acc are hooked up ! That can cause nasty check engine lights !

try the GMBP from bypass.com no cutting of the passlock wires. You might also try putting a relay on the orange wire streghting the ground. Some early 1250's had issuses with this

Yeah I have gone through the install of the 555L and tried a new to see if there was just a problem with the one.Does the acc. wire need to be hooked up on that truck? It has to be something with the 555L peice though. If I take it out I lose the Security light problem. I have been having good luck with the 555L but I will try the GMBP and see if that takes care of it.

Yessssss. hook up the acc. wire.......   you can kill the trans if you don't........

On your Ground. Wile. Running. wire, before your 555l install a relay. G W R on pins 87 and 86.   85 goes to ign. with a diode in line with the line towards the relay.    pin 30 goes to groung......try it ....it works!!!

Yes you can swich the 85 and 86             good luck dude

you may also have the passloc wires reversed. Yellow goes to the key side. BLACK / YELLOW to the computer side. And ign and acces are a must to avoid trans problems. As far as the relay.87 to ground.85 to the orange from brain.30 to the blue/black and 86 to ign

Thanks for the info on the acc. /trans thing. The passlock is fine becuase it starts fine .I figured it was a wire that isn't getting 12v.

Ok guys I have gone through everything on this truck and I am at a lost. Everything works like it should but the security on the dash just want go off.If I start it with the key it comes on and if I start it with the remote the security light comes on.The only thing I can think of is that there is a problem in the 555L but I replaced it once with no luck.Anybody have a clue on that to check?
