great alarm same wiring as the 550 esp same programing for stuff like passive arming, ignition controlled door locks things like that but the install manual will tell you how to program the unit and there is no need for a bitwriter you can use the valet switch to program.. it is the same alarm as the 550 esp with a pager and more range thats it. If you have done remote starts/alarms before it is easy but if it is your first time then yeah it will be a little dificult but if you read this forumn and the install manual a few times and ask questions you should be fine on your own. 250$ is not bad considering all the savings on putting it in yourself . the alarm has about 30 wires which some are not used most of the time. depending on your car, you may need a few relays, diodes, etc that are not included with alarm for locks and other stuff like domelight supervision, trunk pop, etc.. good luck

where can you get it for $250? I'm also looking at getting one of the new DEI Responder systems, but am trying to find the best deal. I will probably have it professionally installed though. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.
