hey wblakes,

try this, sit in the car arm the ORIGINAL alarm system....wait 10 to 15 sec til the system is fully armed......then try starting the car by KEY. See if the alarm goes off....if it does....your remote starter should have the option of programming for unlock before start and lock after start and lock on shutdown

If it doesn't go off.....remove the option to unlock before start and leave everything as is.

as for this wire your looking for.....the door locks wires which you have connected already......the features for the doorlocks on the 791 can be changed to whatever you like.

I tried looking for your installation guide on your unit, but I couldn't find it

Testing is the key

i know that the compustar alarms have the option of unlock before start and relock after start. the vipers do not have this option. i can started the car but just don't want the car to be unlock while it's running for the 12 minutes. will it work if i use the starter output wire and pulse the lock wire for it to lock the doors after it started?

Also may could use your rear defforger set it to pulse this turns on 10 secs after the RS is on. Use relay though. Thsi may not be the best way to do it, just a thought. Never came across this before.

just use the ground out while running to the key sense wire and you will not have to unlock then relock the doors.

I would suggest using the key sense wire as well.
