Here's what I need, a fan speed controller operated either by an up and down switch or by four seperate switches(off,low,med,high). I can do it usuing relays and four switches but it will not have a memory. I need it to return to its last state when I turn the ign. back on. If anyone knows of any controllers that will work or if anyone wants to make some money and build one it would be greatly appreciated.

almost forgot, I only need three speeds and an off position. also I would need to use momentary push button switches which I have already.

Not enough Details.

How can you do it with Relays?

Do you have a Drawing?

How do you want it to switch?

Yeah, I just might have the solution for you but I'd need more info. What kind of switch would you be willing to work with, etc?

Rheostat, rated at the watts/ amps needed.

how do you want to control the speed? resistance? PWM?...

I already have a rotory switch but want an electronic switcher. I would like to use momentary push buttons to control which speed the blower motor will be on. Current rating is not a big deal because I can just run the outputs to relays.Four switches, Off, Low, Med, High. Pressing the off button will turn off outputs, pressing the low button will will give an output(+or - doesn't matter) on one of three output wires(low output), pressing the Med button will turn off either low or high outputs and turn on med output, pressing the high button will turn off either low or med outputs and turn on high output. But if the ignition is turned off when any of the three speeds are on, I need it to return to the same speed automaticlly when the ignition is turned back on. I have the original resitors to determine the speed. I just need this controller to supply 12V to the resistors depending on what speed is selected.

you can use a PiC to do this, programable integrated circute, i don't have a chip burner anymore or i would, find someone with a chip burner and it's a simple flow chart.. it would be really easy
