hi.  i have a celica 89ST and i was tracing my door switch/door trigger on the driver side and it was a "RED / white" wire.  it was thick wire by the switch and the wire that was by the side kick panel was a litte thinner and it was the only "RED / white" wire so i assumed it the correct wire.  i had opened it and put the probe on it and ground and i got a "short reading" while door is open and dome light is lit.  i tried to close the switch to simulate that the door is close but the reading is still "short". i don't think that the reading should always be "short" when you trigger the door swtich.  do you think it is the right wire? what should be the reading if i have the correct wire? thanks.

its prolly the corect wire, just test it w/ Volt mode instead of resistance(ohm).
