I am going absolutely mad!  I bought new fosgate speakers for my 97 Grand Cherokee and also a new head unit.  I had no problems installing the head unit, but the speakers are driving me crazy.  I searched all over the internet for a wiring diagram for that stupid amp, but have had absolutely no luck.  Please, please, please, somebody help me.  I really don't want to have to just start cutting wires and do a "trail & error" kind of thing.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Eric

all i want to do is install a set of separates, but I need to use the crossover that came with them and don't know where to put it, since I can't figure out which wires are which coming out of the stock infinity amp.  I know it sounds simple, but the more I think about it, the more confused I get, lol.  I can't believe that it's that hard to get a wiring/pin diagram.

Take the speaker out of the door and find the "input" wire that feeds the speaker....use these wires on the input terminals of your passive crossover. You should be able to tuck the XO's somewhere behind the door panal. Try not to put em in the door. If you have to tape em up to minimize moister problems. They dont have to be pretty, they just have to funtion.

You don't have to be a mechanic to need a factory service manual (notice I said FACTORY, not Haynes or Chilton)  All the electrical diagrams are there and in great detail.   The best place to score one cheap is Ebay.

You really need this to STUDY the diagrams to know where you need to make the changes.  A thumbnail sketch will probably hurt more than help.

I know this........I have a '95 Grand Cherokee and I am about to do a major upgrade.  The Infinity amp is out and a Hifonics is in.

Real High Fidelity........
or forget it.

orrrrrr you could just run new wires from your head unit to the doors and that will eliminate all the headache with the factory mess.  it should take you about an hour, but at least you will know whats what, and you will have quality wire to feed the power through.

u could run new wires to all speakers. might save u the head aches. the so called infinity amp under the back seat houses the crossovers for the factory speakers so you'll find the high level ins for all speakers(tweeters, mids and rears) but like i said run new wires. aint nuthin worng with that son. good luck.
