BOOM is not typically related to sound quality.  The type of music you listen too as well. Rap, hip hop.......these are NOT types of music associated with "sound quality"  The BOOM your wanting will come from a tuned ported box, again, depending on your music preferance.

A sealed box will give a semi flat responce, meaning youll hear ALL of the bass, not just an over emphasized  band of frequencies, from a ported box.  A true SQ car will have the subs firing foward, with the trunk TOTALLY sealed off from the cabin. Thats very hard to do, most folks will simply turn the box to fire the subs to the back of the trunk.

When you fire them foward without sealing off your trunk/cabin you run into cancellation problems.......the bass gets louder when you open the trunk.

just some freindly info!!!   Good luck!

I get good SQ with the subs facing the tail lights.\

Guy on another forum took at alpine type r and put it in a ported box tuned to 26hz- the Fs of the sub i believe.  ONE TEN BTW. Made the trunk lid of his bonnie flex mad.

I say a properly made ported box will give you more output than sealed, and give you decent SQ.  Its all in the box.

I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

Isn't the definition of SQ "the most faithful reproduction of the original sound"?  Personally, I think that done with a great deal of perfection, the better SQ can come from vented sub enclosures.  The subwoofer parameters have to call for it, though.
