Hey all:

Gonna try remote start in 96 maxima with using the factory keyless to operate.  Using a bulldog starter made for this.  I noticed that there is a bunch of buttons on the keyfob, what do they all do?  Can I find a (-) pulse to operate the r/s from one of these buttons without using the lock button and a relay?  Also, can the person still open the doors with the factory keyless with the car started from the remote?

thanks

Brennan

hey brennan. you said there are buttons on the key fob? i think you are talking about the factory keyless entry remotes right? if so, then no, you will not find a negative pulse to start the car. the only thing you can do is pretty much use the lock motor leg and have a relay convert it to negative. the keyless entry will still work once the car is started in most nissans, im pretty sure it will in this one. later

Cool:

Thanks for the help...I may look into the trunk trigger or something so I don't have to invade the door, but we will see.

The lock wire is pretty much your only option unless you want to lose your trunk release feature via the transmitter.
And just so you know, the factory transmitters have terrible range compared to aftermarket remote starters since they are only designed for keyless entry. I think most factory transmitterts have about a 50 ft range.
