Hi guys

Just did a landcruiser diode isolated the door lock wires as is well known but have a wierd problem =(

my alarm will not lock automatically with ignition

i programed it 3 times  but unlock with igntion off works

all normal locking and unlocking with arm/ disarm works

any ideas?

i know most ingnition controlled locks will not work if a door is open.  maybe you had a door open when testing this or maybe you have the wrong door trigger wire

if the 1997 is an 80 series which i think it is there is no need to diode isolate the lock wires instead find the green box in the drivers door or passenger i'm from australia your setups my be different being that you will be working on a left hand drive car and do as the diagram shows

try this may save you some time next install it may also solve your ingnition lock problem don't ask me why it works it just does the diagram was taken from the secure section of www.dynamco.com.au good look let me know how you go
