I'm having trouble with a remote starter on a 99 tahoe. I believe I need to add a pass lock module to make it work properly. I would apreciate any info you may have on it. I'm using a crime stopper cs 2011 series iv. I've put in several but this is the first time on a tahoe. and I've never used the pass lock modules that are available. I have used the omaga pass-4 for transponder bypasses. is this similar.

From Omega a GMBP or a PL2003.I prefer the later on a rig like yours. You can get your door locks, alarm, horn, and park lights at the BCM under the steering  assy.

Thanks for the info. I've gotten the whole alarm done. I think I need the passlock module because the car won't start with the alarm. It fails all 3 attempts everytime. I tested the tach and it's fine. I also went though the programing steps for learning the tach several times as well. I'll check out the parts you recommended. I have to order something to make it work by sunday. I understand how transponders work but I would like to learn more about this GM Passlock stuff.

You need to have a GOOD digital multi-meter. Measure the voltage between the R-code and Common wire while the vehicle is running. Write this number down on a piece of paper. The module reproduces the measured voltage when its triggered by a ground while running output from the remote start!

or you could just hook up a 555L, and leave the meter on the bench ....

well thanks for all your input. I've done some research and checked out a few different bypass modules. I've decided to go with the new module from crime stopper (gm-u.7). I'm checking out the instructions and it looks to easy to be true. I'm installing it on monday, and I'll post my results.
I do have one question I'm sure one you guys (or girls) can answer. They make reference to the Diagnostic Plug and show a view from the front located below the dash. I saw two plugs one was larger then the other. How do I make sure to have the right one. Unless it is the only 16 pin plug, in that case I guess I don't have a question after all.
Thanks again, I hope I can share a successfull story come monday night.

Or you could use a relay and a resistor and save $15 and be done......

For $7 you could have bought the GMATT-II on Ebay like I did and use relays for the doorlocks- I just did a '99 Tahoe last weekend- but you are right the GM-U7 does it all- I just put one on a "04 Silverado 2 nights ago- fantastically simple- no doorlocks relays or transponder connections- can now do a truck in 1 1/2 hrs.....
