i was installing this deck in a friends 2001 accord and got everything hooked up, dash back together, and went to test the deck out and the only thing it would do was when you pressed the function button it would say TEL. it wouldnt do anything else if you pressed any other button. i was told there was a small reset button under the face plate and pushed that and still no change. does anyone know what is wrong with this deck? it came out of his old car and worked fine while in there. the only thing i could think TEL was for was a cell phone mute but it has no input for one. all the wires anr matched up correctly and the only wire i didnt use was the power ant. please help me out.

it may have a built in security on it, and it wants a code, like some kenwoods and factory radios.  th ebest thing to do is contact clarion and ask them.

you've shorted the tel mute wire....i thinks its brown on clarion to ground...check your wiring and make sure that this wire is not grounded or bare and touching a ground or the deck..
