Has anybody had any experience with this amp? I was just wondering how it performs. I ran across some at a GREAT price, but I don't know much about this particular Orion model as far as rms power.

Hey, Oron amps are one of the best that I have found on the market.  I run a 4002 in my mustang with a kicker solo baric L2.  With that combination it rattles the brain.  The 2500D is a 2500 watt max power amp and is 1 ohm stable if needed.  If you found a good deal on it grab it.  The orion series are some of the best amps I have worked with.   Below is a link to a pgae with the retail price and a few reviews.

I was under the impression that this is a 2500 watt RMS amp, not max power. At least that is the way that it is advertised.

Im not sure if that is a rms or peak rating, but watched a guy run (4) 10inch w7's off one.      hit well 153db.   so they have more then enough power

I have a friend that bought one the other day, but is trying to figure out how to hook it up.  He's out of town so i can't look at it, but he tells me it has 2 outputs??   Anyone know if this is true?  he has 4 single 4ohm vc subs so he looking for  a 1 ohm input.  If its internally bridged or something then im guessing he just hooks 2 subs up to each output.

If it is anything like the xtr pro 2400, that is RMS. These are power hungry amps, make sure you feed them well. They are a mono amp, so they are internally bridged.

The amp is a mono amp even though it looks like it has two outputs. Orion has been doing that for years. They do that so if you are using more than one sub you can use both sets of connectors, but it is only a mono output.

Just as jstruckman said, but with a little more information....

The amp is connecting those two speaker outputs in parralel inside the amp.  If you hook a 4 ohm sub up to each output, the amp will see a mono 2 ohm load.  You can use one output or both, it will not make any difference.  There are many companies out there that so that you do not have to cram 2 sets of wires in one output...as well as other reasons.

Hope this helps...

Evan
