I'm planning to get a 12'' brahma, I want to see if I could use this amp or would it fry the sub? I know it isn't a good amp but i've used it for a while and I want to see if I could use it with this driver. What will really happen if I do decide to use this amp, will the sq just not be good or will it just not be loud? Can I have suggestions to a CHEAP amp for this driver that will do the job without frying the sub.

Try it. Just set the gains correctly, don't mess with the bass boost or any crap like that, and don't turn your volume knob past where it was set when the gain was set.
As long as you don't clip the thing like crazy you won't damage it.
Don't run it at 1 ohm to the Brahma. Stick with 4-ohms.

Well just take a look at the brahma white paper or the power handling sheet. For 2.1ft^3 ported box a brahma needs only 500Watts. FOr me my plan is to run it witha good 600Wattrs Wrms when i can fidn a brahma.
Kfr01: you think a Phoneix Gold Tantrum T500.2 will be good if i wire the brahma in series for 4 ohm load? the amp puts out a underrated 500WRms @ 4ohms when bridged. Its more l ike 575WRms.... Or should i go inanse and just buy a Pg Tantrum 1200.1 1450WRms @ 4ohms . I like Phoenix Gold so i tend to stick with it.

That amp should be fine for on brahma. If you end up buying a second one at some point in the future (like you said were going to in your other post) you should also upgrade the amp.

I don't know what that amp is, but the distortion at .5% @ 4 ohms RMS seems a little dangerous... perhaps something with a little better quality? MTX or Hifonics????

I would look into something a little better to actually match that sub since you have the Ferarri of subs,,,you can't just use a cavalier motor, know what im sayin?

You shouldn't go over 1000wrms, the tech at Adire told me im pushing it on the red line if i put a 12" in 1 cubic foot with 1000wrms.

I'll be using a 4ohm load putting 900 watts into it, no more so it should be fine. Since i'm putting around 900 watts in the the 12'' brahma how any cu feet do you think the box should be? Steve K can I have your input on this too?

Thats the subwoofer enclosure that Adire offers with the sub. The box is prefab but made exactly to fit the sub.

Single 12" sealed1.25 ft3 x 150 lbs

24.00" wide x 15.00" high x 9.00" top depth x 13.00" x bottom depth

Do you think that enclosure is sufficient enough if i'm runnin a 4ohm load on the driver..it will be recieving 900 watts
