I need a little advice on which high powered amp to get. I need it to run at 1 ohm mono, and I think all 3 of these will. I can get the Orion 2500D for $769, the Hifonics Brutus 2200D for $439, or the Concept 2400D for $499. The Orion is a lot more expensive, but I am pretty sure of what it can do. The other 2, I'm not quiet so sure of. Or if you have another amp in this price range that can run 1 ohm mono let me know about it. I want at least 2000 watts RMS.

You can get the Orion for around $450 over at ikesound.com.

Thanks pimpincavy. I will check ikesound. The last time I looked on that site they didn't have a price on that amp. Any other ideas? Anybody?

Alrighty lets look at the choices here. I have never had an issue with the orion stuff but I never used or sold that series of amps. They have always been solid for me. The Hifonics amps are spoken very highly of on this site and seem to have a good rep for doing what they claim and at a decent price. As for the last abomination you speak of, one of the locals places in town carry those bricks and have had nothing but issues with that amp. I guess they fry like eggs and do it often. I have seen people recomend them on this site but when I personally have seen 3 of them put on some pretty smoke shows I cant trust em. BTW that same local place tags that amp at 2200 bucks. Geeez I dunno, mabye they over retailed them just a tad?Advice on an amp -- posted image.. If you can get that orion at the price that the pimp said than I would recomend that, if not then I would give the hifonics a hard look and see if you can find out a little more about them

fusion also makes a 2500 d, it's a really nice amp, there is also the visonik 4000 class x, suposed to have one a lot of awards for the new design called x, it eliminates dc distortion in normall digital amps suposed to prolong the life of subs, i dunno, check em out tho

as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.  you should be able to  wire your system up in 4 ohms also so dont limit yourself to the one ohm amps.  good luck

I think I'm leaning more and more towards the Orion. The Hifonics amps used to be great amps, but I'm not sure about their newer stuff. As far as the Fusion and Visonik, I'll look at them, but I know nothing at all about either of them. I'll drop the Concept out of the running based on what Ravendarat said.

I cant find the Orion on ikkesound anymore, but the Viper 2500D https://ikesound.com/product-product_id/2425 might do the trick.  I think it might be a rebadged Orion to.
