I had the same problem in my old car. The bass would hit and the amp would shut off for a second or two. I had a bad battery and the voltage was going too low for the amp to run on. I ended up getting a new car (with a new battery) and the amp worked fine.
Just an idea.

naw my cars new, and i got to skip on the radio but at a higher volume.  I'm going to run the sub 2 ohms then.
Hurry get me a steel hanger, elec tape, zip ties, a monkey and a snorgle. trust me i've ran wires with less
