Installing Door Lock Actuators

I did a really fun project over the wkend- had a friend's '99 Chevy Astro Cargo van he uses as a residential A/C service truck- his pain was locking unlocking all the doors with the key every time he went into a house in a bad neighborhood- so for $40 I bought a four door lock kit NEW off Ebay- and lo and behold when I got inside the rear and sliding doors- the wires gray and tan were already there!!  Bless GM's heart-  also found an unneeded door lock relay and the timer/delay module for the sliding door- thought about wiring into it- but since I was using negative door system- thought better of it- I did install the door contacts for the sliding door pillar and the door itself- $14 for both from the dealer.  The wires were there that went "over the doghouse" side to side in front- so I merely wired my new lock kits wires into these- Heck the lock actuators fit neatly inside the armrest housings, checked all polarities- all in the right positions.  The actuators themselves when manually triggered (2 front doors) will lock/unlock all others doors- so there is no need to install a switch in either door either- The module had two leads for negative input doorlock/unlock triggers which I could not resist adding a remote start to- So the whole package works great- Used the GMAT II- just $7 off Ebay new- as my bypass for the Passlock II.  So I only have $121 in electronics and a cargo van owner that is extremely happy.  It was actually fun once I knew the OEM wires were there.  And I have spare parts (relays and delay modules) for my personal Astro.............Brcidd - Engineer That Does Remote Starter Installs on the side.

thats what it's all about...i've been doing this stuff ever since i was old enough to drive, i have never lost the intrest of 12volt. although, some things become repetitive and second nature there is a absolute "art" to installation. good here you have a good time! keep up the work!sweet.
