i want to build in 2 subs in a trunk of a civic. i was thinking about raising a floor and building them in there. any ideas on how i can do that and what kind of material i would need.  thanks

Well first question is do you want to keep the spare tire? If the answer is no then how high are you willing to raise the floor.

what are the options with or without a tire if im not gonna keep the tire i can raise a floor a little bit or a lot if its gonna look good it all depends.

Well if you lose the tire then you really would't need to raise the floor. If you keep the spare then you are looking at raising the floor a bare minumum of 6-8 inches.

KEEP IT!!!! You will regret the hell out of it at some point if you ditch the spare tire. And make sure you can get to it. Make a cardboard template of your trunk, cut that out of MDF, BAM, you gotta false floor. Mounting it will depend on the car and since I don't have one to look at I cant tell you how. Be creative. But make sure you can still get to that tire. If you can't get to it on the side of the road in the rain, then you should have just ditched it to begin with.

Personally I would never lose the spare in a daily driver, don't care even with AAA. Then again I don't care about my trunk and it will be completely useless if I ever get around to finishing the glass work in it.

Should i make the whole base of the floor out of mdf or just cut and put pieces all around and then fiberglass the rest

also what direction is it best to face the subs
