2 ohms to one side is no different then 4 ohms to both sides

The only difference is it will stress the amp less to utilize both channels.  The amp will run cleaner, cooler and last longer running at 4-ohms per channel.  This can be very important with Sony Xplod(ing) amplifiers.

OK your amp is not 2 ohm stable MONO only 2 ohm stable stereo.....so you have to run it either 8 ohms bridged(MONO) or each sub to seperete channels stereo....It will be the same.....so you should either buy new subs DVC 4 ohms or buy a 2 ohm stable bridged amp.....
I had the same problem when I bought my first system like 4 years ago and knew nothing know I know what to look for and have been thru plenty of stereos...
