The seller's company is offering their own 1 year warranty, so I dont see a reason to sweat!

Not to beat a dead horse, but the sellers company bought this amp from a legit Alpine dealer who is violating his dealer agreement by doing what is called "transhipping". To get a warranty repair you would have to ship it back to your "seller" , who would then have to ship it back to where he got it from, who would then have to forge a receipt and ship it to Alpine. Risky to say the least IMO.

Crutchfield is an authorized Alpine dealer. I'm pretty sure they are the only online dealer though.

Yes Crutchfield is an authorized Alpine dealer, they also use Alpines " MAP " pricing. Alpine considers them to be a mailorder rather then an internet dealer. My head STILL spins evertime my Alpine Rep tries to explain the differance to me!

It's because Crutchfield started out as strictly mail order. Alpine just ignores the fact that they have a website too. Also crutchfield has enough money and market share to do just about anything they please.

Well -Good luck with it - if ya do and it breaks -- you'll be unpleasantly suprised when Alpine says "sorry- its not covered"

Stick with an Authorized dealer - Service costs $$ - Support the Dealer - you'll at least have someone to take it to --
