Hey, got some pics of the installation. Noticed that the back license plate was rattling so i cut a piece of rubber the same size of the plate, and just put it inbetween the plate and the car. The hatch still does rattle though when i turn it up.

This is the 1999.5 Golf. Not the best pic since its in the garage.

This in the Alpine mrd-m501 amp on the back of the seat. Wish he put it a bit higher but w/e. Im puttting the sub about an inch in front of the amp. Is that too close or is it fine?

Wiring on the box.

I like the cover becuase it keeps all my stuff hidden. But i noticed the rattle real strong from that level of the cover to the bottom of the hatch.Do you think if i took it off, the rattle would be a bit less since im not forcing so much of the air on the bottom part of the hatch?

This shows the dash with the new headunit. Matches pretty well. The tilt function really comes in handy since the HU is a bit low.

Close up of the Alpine cda-9851. Really love all the features.

PS: When i first listened to my system after the install, I thought it was too loud and really muted out the music. But i know why now. The installer i guess was fooling around and left the sub bass on +15! Sounds soooo much better now that i have it on normal, which is 0. What are your guys opinions? Anything I should change? Thanks Getting my System installed today. - Page 2 -- posted image.

Are yuo talking about the subwoofer control on the alpine deck? If it's set at 0 is their even any bass coming from the sub? I left mine on 15 and set the gain with it there. Also, dosn't your amp come with a cover to hid those wires at the bottom? It would really finish off the install if you could hide those wires coming through the floor to the amp. It

Just that you will need to continue working on damping and rattle-fixing.  There's no substitute for tried-and-true damping material such as B-Quiet, Raamat or Dyanamat.  And sometimes you need to MacGuyver ways to fix rattles such as that in the hatch lid.

At 0, the bass is fine. It actually goes down to -7. Yeh ill put that cover on to hide the wires.

I thought you were talking about that little flip-down cover.  I called it a hatch lid.  Yeah, you will definitely need to damp the trunk lid, or hatch lid, or whatever it's called...
