OK, so you have four sub enclosures, each with 4 SVC 4-ohm 125 watt RMS woofers, right?  Assuming you want max output (what else with that many subs?) you can either run one 500 watt mono @ 4-ohms (or 500 watts @ 1 ohm) amp for each enclosure, two 1000 watts @ 2-ohms amps, or one 2000 watts @ 1-ohm amp.  One amplifier is easier to set up and much cheaper in the long run.  That's what I recomend.

If you are serious about having $2800 to spend on amps, there are some really nice options out there for you from Xtant, JBL, Zapco, Phoenix Gold, Eclipse... walk into any car audio shop anywhere and tell them you want 2000 watts @ 1-ohm of the best, cleanest, high-end class D subwoofer amp they have and that you have $2800 to spend and you will certainly find people ready to help you out!!  They'll probably install it for you too.

Next thing to consider is how are you planning to power this beastly setup?  I hope you have a very good high-output alternator...
