i just bought a jl audio w0 8 ohm. what would a good amp to go with that? or how can i get it down to 2 or 4 ohms.

In order to get down to 4ohms ,you need another sub just like the one you have. If you want it down to 2ohms you need 3 more just like you have. To get the most out of that  one sub you need an amp that pushes twice the amount of rms power that your sub is rated at. The reason for this is that your sub is an 8ohm and  what ever amp you get will only push half the amount of power that it is rated at 4ohm.

OR, you can buy a stereo amp, one that will give you the desired amount of power bridged into 8 ohms. This will be the SAME as a 4 ohm rating times 2... i.e. if the woofer is rated 200 watts, you need a stereo amp that is 100 watts times 2 at a 4 ohm load, and it must be bridgeable...

its 150 watts( the sub) so id have to get a amp that is like 600x2 at 4 ohms?
