Prostart CT-5000 Start Up

Ok, after searching through previous threads on this system, I couldn't find anything about my problem. When power it up, it flashes the lights twice to ackowledge it started, and the LED stays flashing; no siren. I can put it in and out of valet mode (the usual way to stop the siren after you power it), but I cannot put it into programming mode, because I cannot flash the hood pin. I cannot even flash it with the built in programming button. Obviously there seems to be something wrong with my wiring. Any hints? Thanks a lot.

Try removing the hood pin switch wire and grounding it manually with your hands to the chassis. Did you check to make sure that the ground that the hood pin switch is connected to is a good solid ground ? I had this problem with an Autostart as well and this solved my problem when I had it.

I'll give it a try. That was my first guess, but before trying it I wanted to check if there were other options and if anything like that happened to somebody else. That poses the question: what's the behaviour of the CT5000 if you power it up with the hood closed?
