Hey Rob, I was just wondering if you know if the ESN cuts down on thefts of Eclipse decks. I would imagine most theifs are to dumb to realize the deck even has such a thing and will steal it anyways. Also if someones deck is stolen and it eventually makes its way back to Eclipse (say someone buys it from the theif and calls eclipse to find out why it wont turn on) will Eclipse then return the deck to its origninal owner? Im getting a 5425 soon and I dont really live in a high crime area, but im still curious about how effective the ESN is at curbing theft and tracking down a stolen unit.

In 9.5 years I have had 7 theft claims. For regular insurance claims for detach face cd players, I have lost count. If the Eclipse has already been replaced to the original owner by Eclipse, Eclipse keeps the unit. If the unit has not been replaced it is either kept until verification with the owners insurance company so as there is no "double dipping". If there has been no insurance claim of any type, the unit should be returned to the original customer.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Thanks for the info, its good to know that theifs dont go after the Eclipses to much, they seem to go more for the Pioneer, Panasonic and Sony decks. In fact someone at our vocational school broke into my friends car and tried to steal his Pioneer 7600.
