j00 like dat carbon fiber?
wut you pay for it...we used to do the GALAXY 5000RS2w1 (1 LCD pager) for $349 installed...or did you get the one with the color screen? OhioMike1101 has one, but i don't quite like how it is kinda hard to see in direct sunlight.

the ASTRA777 remotes must've had a bad run, b/c we had to send back a nice batch of those remotes to get replaced.
but the GALAXY remotes have been a bit better...they both look exactly the same...prolly function exactly the same...but the remotes that came with the GALAXY alarms seem to have held up better.
supposedly the ASTRA777 remote is AM while the GALAXY remotes are FM...don't know if that made a difference in manufacturing or not.
also, it seems that the older all black remotes were more durable than these carbon fiber remotes....or maybe we just sold more carbon fiber remotes....i dunno.
excellent value, but the reliability of the remote is an issue in the back of my head.

Any news on the install? Hopefully it's installed and working by now. Any issues yet? I am thinking of getting the Galaxy 5000RS 1-way because the price is so good. I haven't heard any terrible news on the 5000 series yet, but curious from people who own the 5000 and 5100 series.

Works fine.
Couple of problems
the screen is hard to see in sunlight.
think this is only on the colour screen model.
and i had difficulty with the remote start not because of the alarm but because of the standard starter kill.
the body computer has to be powered up on the car that i was working on before the ariel becomes active and picks up the key/bypasskit. Body computer doesn't power up with the reds id takes a seperate wire off the ignition.
Summary-- The alarm works a Treat

Thanks for your comments. I have just ordered the Galaxy 5000RS (1-way unit, no screen). Will be nice to finally have power locks, keyless entry and trunk pop on my 2nd car. And remote start is always nice too. :) Probably going to be the only Geo Metro 4 door automatic with Remote Start....
