It's available at bypasskit.com or through someone on this forum as well. We sell these, just email for price but it will be sent to you via snail mail.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that the 555L will work with the new GM's with the key sense, second ignition, starter, and Passlock resistance all in one wire. I use the PLXR on these ION based vehicles and it works like a champ.

hi jeff... well guys i have good news (sorry for the thread jack) you can use the 555l or asgm4 on the new vehicles thats use the aformentioned wire, you jsut have to hook it up i little different. hook it up like normal at first, but to learn the resistance you have to hold the key in the crank position for 10 seconds. now take the ignition wire (pink on the 555l, and yllow blue on the as-gm4) and put on a second ignition wire from the remote start (one that is only powered up with the remote start, and not with the key. since there is no passlock ground wire A.k.a. reference ground you have to chassis ground it. this method works on the ions, cobalt, and all the other gms that use this multi function wire.

I was wondering if anyone had an in depth description of how everything should be wired with this alarm. The Install Manual doesn't go into any great depth, and I've never done this before. I know this probably the best thing to do as my first alarm install, but if I take my time I should be fine.

I got the alarm part of the install wrapped up for the most part. I went to hook up the door pin wire last night and ran into a problem. I double diode isolated each wire, at least I think I did it right, and every time I arm the alarm it says the door is open. I wasn't sure exactly how to diode isolate everything, but here's how I did it. I put a T-connector on each wire at the BCM, then ran wires from that to the wire for the door pin sensor from the alarm, and put two diodes on each wire before the wire to the alarm. Each wire has two diodes in one end of a butt connector, and the wire from the bcm in the other, then a wire cap connector at the wire from the alarm. Is this the correct was to do this? Or what did I do wrong?

You have to wire the diodes in parallel not series. Also make sure that you wire up the diodes like this diagram:

so they each need to hook to a seperate place on the wire from the alarm? I'll try that when I get home from school in a couple hours.

another question on wiring the PLXR. Which wire on my Compustar would be the (-) Out when running from car starter that the PLXR wants? would that be the (-) starter output on the alarm itself? I'm assuming it is but I want to be sure.

Thanks

It's the BLACK status wire that you need to attach to the ground when running wire of the PLXR
