My take on this:

I do enjoy seeing the crazy stuff they do on the show.  However I believe it is a huge let down that they don't show much on HOW they do it.  I really enjoy fabrication, and enjoy watching someone's unique technique to pull something off.  This might give me ideas to try in the future.  I personally don't think it is as easy as taking  a blender and putting some fiberglass around it.  From experience, there are things that you have to think through to pull it off that would not be obvious.  And you have to admire their creativity and skill with the basics of install (fiberglass, paint, etc.)

The show is over the top in many ways, but that is just show business.  The same is true with Monster Garage or American Choppers.  Both of those shows are worth watching for the fabrication they do IMO.  I can tune out all the other garbage they put in there.

Nothing is more satisfying than making something out of nothing. You don't go out and make an f-14 out of a ferrari do you?

You know guys my little 9 year old nephew came up to me the other day saying " I'm gonna be a pimp"." I'm gonna have a car just like on tv." That made me think, do people know what a "pimp" is. A pimp is someone who makes young girls and boys to have sex with people then they keep the money too. Is that something that I want my nephew or your kids to grow up to be?I told him what a pimp was, and that I didn't want to hear him say "I'm gonna be a pimp" ever again. I told him that he could have a cool car when he got big, but that I'm not gonna "pimp it" out for him. If I'm still in the bizz I'll put a system in for him, but not  "pimp" it. Now I'm not trying to get on a "high horse" here, but I think MTV should change the name of the show so young kids don't think that "pimpin" is something to be proud of. I know in some of my other posts in this topic I say that "money is money" and all that, but thats before I saw the big picture.

You hit the nail on the Head big Dave.

My friend just got on his Nephew for saying the same thing about being a pimp.  However, he is older but it's still the same concept.  They hear that word and thinks, man it's cool to be a pimp.  Then they go around thinking that they are a pimp and calling themselves a pimp and don't have a clue as to what the word means.

that is the point, wcc are a bunch of sellouts. i would never want any dirty money from mtv who is poisoning our youth by making stupidity considered cool and morals uncool. sadly i have had to see the show because many of my friends watch it, and i like to see any idea, no matter what it is. the interior's fabrication is terrible(rough edges everywhere. would love to see one of the cars close up), the exterior is done terribly with body kits that just dont look right. all the tv monitors are flimsy when attached, especially the tablet pc. christ at least install a carputer. "mad mike" can only install out of the box crap. shell, i doubt those guys do any work on wcc's real cars. i mean christ, who in their right mind would hire the accessory(crap) guy. the guy they brought on later on who does the paint jobs isnt all that bad, although the paint jobs are. enough venting, just another thing the mass media is screwing up to get even more rich.

The 2 posts before this one were awesome posts that brought up a great point. But this post right here is everything short of ignorant. So you wouldn't take "dirty money"? lol And I suppose your the best installer in the world.
