As far as I know, it is all pretty much the same. I have never heard of different grades of mdf.

MDF is MDF.  They are all the same.  MDF is harder to work with because it splits so easily.  You just have to drill pilot holes to whole length of the screw.

What kind of wood do you use, particle board or plywood?

well.. i mean.. more is better right?  the drivers are made to ride on a certain amount of air in a close and fixed cntainer.  meaning they would rather be in a cement box than anything else.

now this is a little bit of a crossover from my other thread but while were talking here..

having a sectioned box.  drive in the main box, and a piece of clean flex tubing to a second box.  this would be an issue cause hte flex tubing.. flexes right? PVC would be the only real option here?

MDF IS MDF, it is all made the same way. I get all of my MDF from Home Depot and I have no complaints. As long as you use the right blades for cutting it and pre-drill all screw holes you should have no problems with it either.

I use MDF.

I agree 100% with Racer247.  Just have to drill screw holes.

The only benefit you'd notice using HDF are the following:
1. Great way of weighing down the back tires for winter traction
2. Excellent anti-theft deviced (the added weight of HDF makes it that much harder to steal the whole box)
you'll be fine with MDF... but then again, 1 inch thick aluminum may do the trick too.....
