Hey guys, right now I have a set of Focal Utopia 165w3's passively crossed in my civic. I have them running of a JL 300/2 currently; but to go active that won't work. Currently I am undecided on an amp for them... I would like to stick with JL as the rest of my amps are JL, but it's not absolute.

Well, if you want to stick with JL then look at the 300.4.

Don't know what went wrong there, but I should have mentioned that I will be getting rid of the 300/2 to get a new amp to run the pair of Focals..

Why cant you go active with that amp?

cause it's only a 4 ch amp. and that alone won't work... need a 6 ch amp to go active with 3 way speakers (1 pair)

Sh*T sorry, didn't read the Speaker model fully. Why not just add a 300/4, then you would have 6 channels.

that might be the option I end up having to go with, but I would have liked to have the speakers running off a single amp... but ti's not looking like I will find a good 6 ch amp, or at least without spending a lot of money... I think I will just keep the 300.2, and get a 300.4 to run the 3 way network...
