best way to strip a wire without cutting

What is the best way to strip a "section" of wire? 

that last technique is great when all you have is x-acto. you don't cut to the wire, except for the cut along the length - it doesn't damage any of the strands to cut along them, only against them. then cause you have a cut around the wire, when you 'rip it off' it USUALLY rips around hte little guide you make ONLY PROBLEM with stripping like this you can't get shrink tube over the joint, and i hate electrical tape more than those damn T-Taps. 3 years later - electrical tape is waorn away, shorts out and BAM! you have crap. lol. shrink tube is gods gift... right between pretty women and german engineering.

I bought this wire stripper at a hardware store, and honestly it is worth i'ts weight in pure gold. It makes any wiring job go by so much quicker.  Kenwood all the Way!
