I got one of these harnesses and I'm going to try to install the CK-3100 myself on a 2004 Escalade and a 2005 Envoy SLT. The only thing I'm not sure about is what is the best place to 12v constant and 12V switched from on those cars. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,

Alex

Goto the ignition switch heavy gauge wires

pink-ignition

red- constant

fuse lines are included.

also you want to use the thin brown and green wire comming off the black box.

put them to the corosponding wires, pink pink/black on GMCELL

parrott includes no wire diagram. if you need more info let me know

Rich,

Thanks for the help... Greatly appreciated...

I did the install today. There are two problems that I still need to resolve. I used an orange heavy gauge wire as the switched 12v, but as soon as I turn the car off the CK-3100 turns off as well. I wanted to have so that it would turn off when the door was opened as does the radio. The second issue is the OnStar. I hooked up the relays as instructed by SoundGate, but the OnStar does not work. It mutes the radio but there is only clicking sounds. The CK-3100 works as expected so I think I connected the relays correctly. I tried reversing the polarities on the OnStar wires, but I got the same result. I hope I didn't confuse the mute wire with one the input wires coming off of OnStar.

By the way, I ended up installing it in the Escalade. Next week I'm ordering another for the Envoy. If any one is interested I found the best price for the CK-3100 at www.compuplus.com. Even better pricing that on Ebay.

Any suggestion are welcomed.

Thanks,

Alex

I only suggest the soundgate adapter because I have never had a problem.

and the soundgate adapter has no relays, it is a databuss, mute, audio input harness.I never used relays in the past

If someone has another option i would like to know what it is.

Guys,

SoundGate gave me a digram to hookup the relays. The GMCell adaptor does not come with relays. I had to buy them separately and hook them up. If there is something better out there I would like to know. I'm planning on doing my 2005 Envoy as well and if I don't have to deal with the relay even better... They are pretty noise anyway, you can hear them closing and opening when making phone calls...

Please send me the details on the other harness... pacheco at alumni dot rice dot edu.

Regards,

Alex
