So the starter works perfectly when the key is left in the ignition?
1) Make sure the bypass is programmed properly (555C)
2) Make sure the Pellet is positioned properly.... this takes some futzing around.
The easiest way to program the 555C:
1) 1st key, ignition to the run position (don't start the truck.... just have the key to the run position)
2) once the theft light(red indicatior, maybe 3/16" or so on the right side of cluster) goes out, turn key off and remove
3) Within 5 sec, insert second valid key, turn to run, and wait. The theft light will go out, then come back on in a flashing pattern. This may or may not be accompanied by a single "ding"
4) turn key off and remove. Now.... this is where it gets tricky. Ground the wait to start wire on the remote starter (grey/black). hold the pellet in clost proximity to the front of the key reader. Enable remote start (keeping the wait to start wire grounded). Everything should power up, and the theft light will be flashing. After a couple min., the light should go solid. Key is now learned.
Is this an early model 2002 with the old wiring? (one blue ignition, yellow start, BLACK/ orange accessory, red 12V and a pink/black 12V) or is the newer many ignition/accessory, lots of pink / YELLOW of varying guages wiring harness?   If it is the newer style.... power up everything under there. A couple accessories aren't needed for remote start, but are needed to learn a key for some reason.
