why wouldnt you just use the remote turn on of the deck for the amp?

well it turns out, that for the 04/05 ion's, there is a new harness, the GM10B, not the 70-2002. You could use the 2002 but you will need to re-pin the wires,

just an fyi for those that are doing that car
