To much power is never that bad.  It should clean up your bass at all levels

question about my subs... I have the rockford punch hx2 dvc...loking in the manual of the speakers, I found that it says,

         "nominal impedance (ohms)..............4(2)

what exactly does that mean and how can I wire my two subs to give me the most power. I would like for some one to give me the wiring configs for a 2 channel amp and also for a 1 channel amp. That would be greatly appreciated

one more question : how is it that 2 , 4ohm speakers can be wired to make 1 ohm and 2, 2ohm speakers can only be wired to make 2 ohms???

You can go to Audiobahn http://www.audiobahninc.com toward the top right click on tech support, and then scroll down and you will see the wiring diagrams. If you wire them in Parallel you get 1 ohm, Series- parallel 4 ohm, series 16 ohm. So you will get the most power wiring them in parallel but the amp you have is 2 ohm stable and not 1 ohm. You will have to wire them in series-parallel so you get a 4ohm load.
