I know most of you are sick of hearing this question, but I've read until my eyes were bleeding and can't find the answer I'm looking for.

My question...I have a 2001 Alero with Passlock II system.  I want to bypass it and I do NOT have or want a remote start system.  Will the DEI 555l module work on a system without a remote start.  Could you please talk in elementary terms as well as I'm no mechanic or electronics guru.  Could you also give a description of the installation that needs to be done?

Thanks very much

Joe

The 555I is for Honda/Acura.........Not sure that will code
Shouldn't U use:  556LW or 555LW or 555T  or ...Can use the 457GW to bypass the Passlock II
Either way U will need to Ground BLUE wire on unit & Learn Key

Ok, looks like I need to figure out which one to get but, are there instructions that come with the bypass to tell me how to Ground Blue wire on unit and learn key?  And will they work without a remote start?

Thanks for the quick replies

Joe

May I ask why you are trying to circumvent a theft deterent feature of the vehicle? Are you having problems with the Passlock system?

Yes, it's my 7 month pregnant wifes car.  It will not start about once a week and you have to wait 10 minutes for it to start, we really just can't afford for this to happen in case of a baby emergency.

Do you need a bypass just for a alarm no remote start???

Yes no remote start, don't have one and don't want one.

I don't think a bypass is going to solve your problem.

Do you have another suggestion?

Thanks
