Hi Folks,

I'm planning to install a Compustar 2WSS-AS alarm w/ remote start to my 02 Suburban, this is my first time installing an alarm but I have a lot of experience installing car audio, I just need a little guidence form you folks. What I want to do is add remote start to the burb, and hope to retain the factory alarm as well and have it arm and disarm with the compustar. I also want to keep drivers priority door locks and delayed dome light feature. Can you folks help me wire this up. This is what I have gathered for info so far can you please verify the wires and fill in the blanks for me

Notes:NOTE: This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start, must be interfaced with. *1 The BCM is located behind the drivers side of the dash. The plugs on the BCM face towards the rear of the vehicle. The parking lights are in pin A5 and the headlights are in pin A11. *2 Use tan for the drivers door located in pin B4 of the purple plug, the passenger doors are a blue/white in the lt. blue plug, and the rear hatch pin is a pink/black in the lt. blue plug. You must diode isolate these wires. *3 ECM is located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover. On the 4.3L, the tach wire is at pin 20 in the connector labeled 'red', and VSS wire is at pin 3 in the connector labeled 'black'. On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the tach wire is located at pin 10 in the 'red' connector, and VSS wire is located in pin 50 of the 'red' connector. *4 Also found in the purple plug of the BCM. *5 Diesel wait to start wire is dk. blue (-) located at the instrument cluster.

Ok I got most of the wires figured out now but I still have a couple of questions.

1. Which is the best spot for Tach I have heard you can use the one on the instrument cluster, ECM, or on the coil, does it matter which one I use? I'd like to use the one on the instrument cluster is this good enough.

2. My alarm has a feature to simulate opening the door and pressing the factory lock button for factory re-arming, it basically suplies a negative pulse before Lock and a pulse after start. Does anyone know where do I attach this wire to re-arm the factory alarm.

Thanks,

1. Doesn't matter which one , just use the one that will be easiest to access and is a clean signal.

2. Don't reall yneed this, your Compustar will be active when remote started anyway.

Ok I have found all the wires but one, I can't seem to locate the factory disarm wire. I tried the green wire in the violet BCM plug but that wire always shows 12V+ all the time when factory alarm is armed or disarmed is this right?

Thanks,

Thanks for all the help Jeff and securinu.  Kenny2002 the wiring diagram is pretty much listed in the 1st 3 columns above and it's also on the back of the alarm unit. There isn't much in the manual that really helps, The relays you have to fihure out yourself the manual says nothing about them, the one with the yellow wire is starter kill and the one with the blue is for accessory.  I don't have the manual with me right now but I'll try to post it when I get the manual
