The tach wire is a BLUE wire found at a 2 pin plug to the passenger side of the battery.

There are usuall y blank rubber gromets that you can push or pry off of the firewall and then drill a hole through these gromets. OR you can punch a small hole through the rubber gromet at the steering wheel where the largerst loom of wires are.

Hello again!

I couldn't find my door triggers, a diagram said it was in a green plug above my driver's kick, but there are just grey and blue plugs.

Also, I cut my ingnition wire in half, and connected the corresponding wires, and it would remote start, but wouldn't key start.

One more thing, how do I get the shrouding off my steering column?  I tried to unscrew a couple of screws on the sides of the steering wheel, but they won't budge, this is for my transmod.

Thanks again!

David!

The factory alarm plug is a green plug above the drivers kick panel and if your vehicle does not have the OEM alarm, the plug is still there attached to nothing. You will see the wires needed in this plug.

  • 87a: KEY SIDE of the ignition wire
  • 30 : Other side of the cut ignition wire
  • 86 : Ignition wire ( keyside )
  • 85 : GROUND OUT WHEN RUNNING wire from RS unit.

This should work for the relay on the ignition wire to start with the key.

for the door trigger, you can also use the GREEN/ red wire in a 2 pin grey plug (the other wire in the plug is WHITE/ blue) it's right next to the large grey plug in the drivers kick panel. Catches all doors.

as stated, the green alarm plug is up high, reach to top left under the dash, (behind air vent if your sitting in the seat) you'll see it taped with blue tape. Pull the plug down, ripping the blue tape away and you will have about 8 inches of wire to play with.

Trunk trigger, separate door triggers(must use diodes), ignition, parkinglights(-), horn trigger, etc are all in this plug.

As for the steering collum, the top and botton are clipped together and sometimes can be quite frustrating to remove. Be patient and take your time to locate all the screws and pry the 2 pieces apart carefully. The plastic tabs can break easily and may leave a gap at the seam when reassembled. Make sure you've removed all the screws from underneath. The holes can be pretty deep, so a single purpose screw driver is needed, as an interchanable bit type will not fit in the holes.

Thanks, and sorry to bother you again, but for the ignition relay, I don't quite understand Which wires to plug in, (car ignition wire or rs wire).  Could you break it down for me just a bit further, thanks for your understanding, and help.

You need to cut into the CAR"S ignition wire for the disable circuit. Attach the RS's ignition wire to the output of the relay so the car still starts with the key.

Ok, here's what I understand:

30 - Car input

87a - car output

and that's it....

I still have a rs ignition input and output to play with, and will this work for both key on, and remote start?

yes, attach both wires to the output of the relay...just like a starter disable circuit. The output of pin 30 is the input & output of the RS ignition wires.
